Want to get accurate shipping rates depending on how you pack your products for shipment?

Just pre-define any package sizes and the associated Transport Packing Matrix (TPM) to drive packing configurations.  Or just leave it to our AI driven Best Fit Algorithm (BFA) to, behind the scenes, dynamically determine the best “package and product packing” fit for those products on the checkout.

What is a transport packing matrix (TPM)?  It is a way for the seller of physical goods to pre-define how products will be packed into transport packages for shipping purposes.    The matrix comprises of products on one side and transport packages on the other side.   Therefore, the intersection of product-to-package determines the type of packaging to be used and the product quantity that can be packed into the packaging.  Logistics or Fulfilment departments use a TPM to assist with packaging prior to shipping.

Knowing the TPM is important for duties and taxes calculations because certain destination countries will add the cost of shipping, to the cost of the goods, BEFORE applying a percentage for duties and taxes.   In such cases, having the transport packaging configurations, such as length, width, height, weight and quantity of packages, allows the ability to obtain accurately shipping costs from origin to destination addresses, which directly impacts the accuracy of pre-determining the expected duties and taxes.
